Half Term Planning

Half Term Planning

It doesn't seem like 5 minutes since our last half term and now here we are planning for the next!

We have decided to run our popular multi-sports once again, as well as lots of soft play for the little ones, karate, Nerf Wars, and a new Detective Mystery Day! There will be lots of organising on our part to get ready for the busy week we have planned, and more details will be published nearer the time. We look forward to your continued support, and really appreciate you all taking the time to bring your kids along to all of the activities we plan here at the hall.

Til next time,

Back to it

Back to it

Hi All,

I am back after a short break away in Wales. We stayed at the Bluestone Resort in Pembrokeshire which was very relaxing with a bit of fun thrown in (when my teenager decided it would be a good idea for us to spend Thursday morning on a zip-wire 100ft above the forest...)

So back to it at the hall where we have our monthly bingo night tonight, so do come along if you are free. We have lots of lovely prizes to win, £80 in cash prizes, a raffle, tombola, homemade refreshments....and a lovely friendly atmosphere. Tonight also sees thew debut of our new bingo caller Pete who has stepped in for us in the past and we love to have him call our numbers for us. Hope to see you all later!

Marshland Yard Sale and Farmers Market

27th August 2019
Marshland Yard Sale and Farmers Market

A great Bank Holiday weekend was the setting for the Marshland St James Yard Sales and Farmers Market. The weather was glorious and over 50 households took part, creating a fantastic community atmosphere. Well done to Jean who organised the Yard Sales - it's always a stressful time and you never really know if anyone is going to turn up until the actual day! It's a big relief when you see it all coming together eventually. It was also a great day for the hall with a busy Farmers Market and lots of people using the Tea Room (and the air conditioning!) Well done to everyone involved, what a great success!

Busy week at the hall

Busy week at the hall

It feels like Friday already, but I am assured it is still only Thursday! This week has been quite busy at the hall - after a wedding reception at the weekend we were back to normal on Monday with yoga, soft play and gardening club. Tuesday it was karate and soft play, and then yesterday we had short mat bowls and another karate session. Today we have two Nerf Wars sessions and then Marshland Saints are here, followed by yoga tonight. Tomorrow will finish the week off nicely with soft play, multisports and Playford dancing, before we close at the weekend for another wedding. Hope you are all having a lovely week so far!

Is Summer over?

Is Summer over?

I am hoping it is not just me who has sneakily pushed the boost button on the heating at night...please tell me it's not! I do not like being cold, that's for sure, and the weather took a bit of a turn this weekend. Still, the lovely lady on the morning weather channel assures me that it will get warmer again before Christmas! Until then we are keeping busy in the hall with the last few events of the Summer kid's programme. We have a few more Nerf and Multi Sports sessions to go and will then be looking towards the latter half of the year and the run up to the festive season. Doesn't the year tend to fly by!

Over £200 raised!

Over £200 raised!

What a great 'crafternoon' we had yesterday at the hall - raising over £200 for hall funds! Lots of enthusiastic kiddies turned up to take part in our crafts and activities...we had pine cone owls, springy gnomes, pom pom hearts...and glitter EVERYWHERE! Thanks to everybody who came along to support the hall. I love doing these events - even though my feet hurt afterwards! - and want to keep on planning lots for the children to do. Thanks again everyone, we really couldn't do it without each and every one of you.

Crafting at the Hall

Crafting at the Hall

Tomorrow is our second kid's craft event at the hall, and I am really looking forward to it. The event starts at 12noon, but it takes an absolute age to get organised and setup - the last one took 4 hours! Still, it's so much fun so I don't mind it at all, and I can;t wait to see all the kids and their parents enjoying the activities that I have planned for them.

Hope to see many of you tomorrow!

August's Bingo

We had a great night at Bingo last night and raised £412 for the hall! Money raised will go towards future events at the hall and then we are planning a huge Christmas bingo in December to raise money specifically for a defibrillator for the hall. Bingo is held on the second Monday of each month, and the next one is September 9th.
